Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It’s used to help realign deep layers of muscle and connective tissue.
This type of massage is especially helpful for people suffering from chronic pain, and contracted areas such as stiff neck and back, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
While a Deep Tissue Massage includes strokes that are similar to those used in classic massage therapy, the movements are slower, and the pressure is deeper, in order to reach the sub-layer of muscle and fascia.
Due to the nature of deep tissue massage, it is common to feel some discomfort and pain during the process. If you do feel pain outside of your comfort zone, be sure to inform your massage therapist.
